Time: Wednesday, October 31st, 7:30pm Arrivals after 8pm may need to find their own table. Place: Kim's Vietnamese 368 Castro Street Mountain View, CA 94041 650-967-2707 http://www.themenupage.com/kimsm.html has a menu. Note that Kim's closes at 9:30pm, so arriving promptly at 7:30 is probably a good idea. Description: Kim's is a small Vietnamese restaurant on Castro Street in Mountain View. They specialize in Pho, seafood, and vegetarian food. There's beef pho, chicken pho, vegie pho (that would be faux pho), meat and seafood dishes, noodle dishes, vegie dishes, vegie imitation-meat/fish dishes, crunchy appetizers. The vegie soups were amazingly good. Atmosphere: Formica, Family-style with staff talking loudly to each other :-). Not usually too crowded. I haven't eaten there in a large group, but they seemed to cope well enough with a group of a dozen who came in once while I was there. Prices: Cheap. [Review by Bill Stewart] KW was last at Kim's on April 18, 2001. Directions: Short: Castro Street, at the California Street end of the main restaurant area, roughly across from Sono Sushi. Parking's available in back. Public Transit: The Mountain View CalTrain station is 3-4 blocks walk down Castro. Do NOT get off at the Castro station; its the wrong one. Long: Take 101 to Mountain View. Take the Moffet Blvd exit away from the bay to downtown MtV. The restaurant will be three and a half blocks past the Caltrain tracks on the right hand side of the street. [Directions by RichardT]
