Time: Wednesday, May 09th, 7:30pm Place: Jing Jing 443 Emerson St. Palo Alto, CA 94301 650-328-6885 Description: I thought sure that KW had been to Jing Jing previously, but there does not seem to be a review for it in the archives. Jing Jing is a favorite for those who like it hot, but has lots of mild dishes too-- or I would never eat there. Many Chinese restaurants in the South Bay are Hunan, or Mandarin, or Cantonese, whereas Jing Jing is really a Szechuan restaurant, of the style beloved by many expat East-Coast folks. BTW, when they say "hot", they really mean HOT. Menu: http://www.themenupage.com/jingjingm.html Review: http://www.mv-voice.com/morgue/2000/2000_07_21.dine210.html [Review by Strata] Kabuki has apparently never been to Jing Jing. Now I feel bad, since I won't be there to introduce folks to it! Directions: Jing Jing is a half block or so north of University Avenue in Palo Alto on Emerson. Pretend you were going to Mandarin Gourmet, but go on Emerson instead of Ramona. :-) From Berkeley/Oakland: Take 880 South to the Dumbarton Bridge. Take the Dumbarton to 101 Southbound. The next exit is University Ave, which you take west into Downtown Palo Alto. Turn right at Emerson, the restaurant is on the right hand side about halfway down the block. From the South Bay: Take 101 North to University Ave; Take University Ave west to Emerson; Turn right and park, the restaurant is on your right.
