San Antonio Rd Los Altos Description: Chef Chu's has been a Penninsula institution since 1970. The menu has a wide variety of Chinese offerings, both traditional and innovative. Many of the dishes are featured in Chef Chu's cookbook, available at bookstores nationwide. Diners will find an extensive selection of beef, lamb, fowl, seafood, and vegetable dishes. Entrees are available for those with delicate palates, as well as the more adventuresome who enjoy spicy food. Vegetarian, diet, and low sodium dishes can also be prepared to specifications for those with special tastes or dietary requirements. Chef Chu's does not use MSG in any of their dishes. Prices range from $1 - $7 for appetizers and soups, $5 - $17 for entrees, $24 for Peking Duck (which requires four hours notice), and $11 per person for combination dinners. Kabuki was last at Chef Chu's on October 18th [Review by Jennifer Ryan] Directions: The restaurant is at the intersection of El Camino Real and San Antonio Road in the Mountain View/Palo Alto area of the South Bay. San Antonio Road has a marked exit from 101, and is south of University Avenue (the Downtown Palo Alto exit) and north of Moffett Field. El Camino Real is toward the ocean from 101. The restaurant is on the far left hand corner of the intersection as you approach it from 101 on San Antonio. To reach the restaurant via public transit, you should take Caltrain the the Mountain View station, and then take the 22 bus northbound (toward Menlo Park) along El Camino to the Restaurant. -RichardT
