This Event: Wed 01/16 Thai-Rific, Mt View Coming Events: Wed 01/23 Spoons, Sunnyvale Wed 01/30 Shebele, Campbell Wed 02/06 Swagat, Palo Alto Wed 02/13 Man Bo Duck, Mt View Wed 02/20 ...uh-oh! KW needs a new scheduler! Kabuki web page at http://remarque.org/kabuki. Time: Please arrive at 7:30pm; we generally order around 7:45pm. Arrivals after 8pm may need to find their own table. Place: Thai-rific 126 Castro Street Mountain View 650-969-THAI http://www.waiter.com/wwwsys/thairific/thairific1.location.html Description: This is the Thai place which is not Amarin, next to Amarin. They use onions as decoration, and have a much yummier pad thai than Amarin (IOHO). We can't think of much else. Their thai ice tea is very good, as are the angel wings (though High Thai, now gone, in Saratoga had the BEST angel wings ever). Much smaller, a tiny bit less pricey, a change of pace. [review by SRC & MSC] Kabuki doesn't seem to have been to Thai-rific before. Directions: Short: Thai-rific is one or two doors down from Amarin Thai, on the first block down Castro from Central. Long: Take your route of choice to Moffett Blvd and 101. Head peninsula west (south) on Moffett until you pass Central and it becomes Castro. Park at the first available opportunity. Transit: Take CalTrain or Light Rail Extension to the "Mountain View" stop. If you are coming up from San Jose on Light Rail, make sure you are on the Tasman line, or change to it from the San Jose line. If you are arriving on CalTrain, note that the "Castro" stop is NOT at Castro Street! You want the "Mountain View" stop instead, unless you feel like a long walk.
