El Camino Real, near South Bernardo Avenue, Sunnyvale. 650-962-8007 http://www.bayarea.com/mld/mercurynews/2003/09/28/living/6881476.htm It's a new Afghan restaurant in Sunnyvale! Open about 4 months. Kebabs - Beef, lamb, chicken, salmon, combos. Vegie dishes - Spinach, eggplant, pumpkin, cauliflower, either as main dishes or sides. Apps include pakawra-e-bandenjan, aushak Most things have salad with yogurt dressing. The owner, Abdul Yawary had a Roya restaurant in Walnut Creek for four years. The Merc reviewer raved about the kebabs, vegies, yogurt, and apps except thought the aushak was boring, liked the decor. KW has never been there. Location: "An unusually tree-lined parking lot in the Good Guys center makes Roya hard to see from the street, thus the sandwich board on El Camino." It's just north of Bernardo, south of 85, looks like northbound side of ECR. Public Transit? It wouldn't be surprising if the ECR 22 bus goes by there.
