No need for RSVPs this week - they've got enough space and they're a buffet, so they should cope fine. El Camino Real Mountain View Description: Passage To India was one of KW's staple Indian restaurant venues, tending toward good food, buffet some years, hole-in-the-wall building. During 2002 they moved to a larger building on the other side of El Camino, and KW has been there once this summer. They have recently opened their old location again, reincarnated as a vegetarian buffet. that's where we're going this week. I haven't eaten there in the new version, but I stopped by and the buffet is pleasantly large, so there should be enough variety for everybody. [My original plan was to try the new South Indian veg place on El Camino a block or two south of Castro. The food is wonderful, but it's too crowded for a KW to work.] [Review by Bill Stewart ; Directions by RichardT] Directions: Short: Passage to India is on the Central Expressway side of El Camino, between Shoreline and Castro in Mountain View. Public Transit: The restaurant is on the 22 El Camino line. It is also three blocks "north" of Castro Street, where the Mountain View CalTrain station is. So, take Caltrain to Mountain View, then walk up Castro to El Camino, turn right, and the restaurant is several blocks ahead on your right. Long: Take your route of choice to 101 and Moffett Blvd in Mountain View. Follow Moffett away from the bay to El Camino Real, passing Central Expressway and downtown Mountain View. Turn right and proceed approximately four blocks; the restaurant is on the right hand side, at the corner one block before Shoreline. Parking Note: There is parking attached to the restaurant, for a change. Cool, huh?! - RichardT
