Description:

	Macarthur Park's cuisine is heavily California-tainted 
	American (radicchio and spinach
	salads, artichokes, eggplant).  They also serve excellent 
	barbecue and steak.  I often recommend them as an alternative
	to a steakhouse when some of the members of a group are steakhouse
	hostile and several others are insistent on well-prepared dead
	animal.  The restaurant is often a bit loud, but quite comfortable.
	Brent is of the opinion their steak is superior to that of
	Sundance Mining Co.

	Entrees are in the $12-$25 range, so expect dinner to be well out of
	the student range.

	Kabuki was last at Macarthur Park on November 17th

Directions:

    Short:
	Macarthur Park is immediately next to the University Avenue Caltrain
	station.

    Transit:
	The restaurant can be reached easily by Caltrain, by the Santa Clara
	county route 22 (El Camino), and the San Mateo route 7F (Stanford).
	Note that the 7F stops across El Camino at the Stanford Shopping Center,
	and you will need to cross El Camino to the train station to reach
	the restaurant.

	Long:
	From the north, take 101 South to University Ave.
	From the east bay, take 880 south to the Dumbarton Bridge, west to 
	101, and south to the University Ave exit.
	From the south, take 101 north to University Ave.

	At University ave, head west through downtown and under the train
	tracks.  Make a very sharp right turn following signs to the train
	station, and then make a left into the restaurant's front parking
	lot.  There is valet parking, and additional (self-park) parking 
	in back of the restaurant.
