Many Chinese restaurants in the South Bay are Hunan, or Mandarin, or Cantonese, whereas Jing Jing is really a Szechuan restaurant, of the style beloved by many expat East-Coast folks. BTW, when they say "hot", they really mean HOT. Menu: http://www.themenupage.com/jingjingm.html Review: http://www.mv-voice.com/morgue/2000/2000_07_21.dine210.html [Review by Strata] Kabuki has been to Jing Jing several times, most recently January 2003 Directions: Jing Jing is a half block or so north of University Avenue in Palo Alto on Emerson. Pretend you were going to Mandarin Gourmet, but go on Emerson instead of Ramona. :-) From Berkeley/Oakland: Take 880 South to the Dumbarton Bridge. Take the Dumbarton to 101 Southbound. The next exit is University Ave, which you take west into Downtown Palo Alto. Turn right at Emerson, the restaurant is on the right hand side about halfway down the block. From the South Bay: Take 101 North to University Ave; Take University Ave west to Emerson; Turn right and park, the restaurant is on your right. [Directions by RichardT for Mandarin Gourmet, modified by SRC] Also Note: The economic downturn has not made the parking situation any better. Jing Jing is across the street from the Aquarius Theater http://siliconvalley.citysearch.com/profile/11276168/ which often has interesting movies.
