Description

Kamakura serves very good Japanese cuisine, rivaling or exceeding Joshu-Ya at it's best. The atmosphere is better as well. Dinner should be less than fifteen dollars, not including drinks.

Kamakura is two or three blocks east of Park St. on Santa Clara Ave.

Public Transit

The 51 stops at Santa Clara and Park. The 50 runs down Park, and can be caught at the Fruitvale BART station. If you don't want to walk the blocks from Santa Clara and Park, the 63 runs down that part of Santa Clara, but you need to transfer to it from one of the other two.

Long

You need to get off of 880 at the 23rd St. exit in Oakland. If you're coming from the south, make a U turn back over the highway. Follow the signs to Alameda and over the bridge. You'll be on Park St. Turn left on Santa Clara.
