Description:

True barbecue isn't a grilled meat with sauce, but is meat that has been
smoked slowly over a wood fire. Willy smokes all his own meats, and serves
them with Carolina style tomato based sauces, or with no sauce at all.

Chicken, pork, beef, ribs, and links are only some of the items on the menu.
Beans, corn on the cob, and other traditional Carolina dishes are all to be
had in this funky, neighborhood sort of place owned and operated by a former 
IBM electrical engineer. The appeal here isn't atmosphere but food.

]From the Peninsula, SF, and other points west of the Bay:
Take US 101 to Hwy 84. Take Hwy 84 eastbound across the
Dumbarton Bridge. Exit at the second exit, Newark Blvd./Ardenwood
and follow the signs southward onto Newark Blvd.

]From the Back Bay (East Bay), Santa Cruz, and points convenient to
the Richmond Bridge:

Take Hwy 880 to Hwy 84. Take Hwy 84 westbound to the first exit, Newark Blvd./
Ardenwood. Follow the signs southward onto Newark Blvd.

Once you're heading southward on Newark Blvd., drive out of the major 
peripheral business district. You will drive through a zone of apartment
houses, and then into a single family residential area.
 
There is a traffic light at Lafayette, where the middle school will be on 
your right. The next traffic light is at Mayhews Landing. On the corner,
at the front of the strip mall is a building containing Marv's Liquors.
Willy's Smokehouse and Bar-B-Que is on the back side of that building.

The best way to get into the parking lot is to cross Mayhews Landing and 
turn into the driveway on the far side of the building. Park behind,
close to Willy's.
